Oluwafunmilayo Olaleye (MPh)
Program Officer
I play pivotal roles in suporting program success by managing secretarial duties and program workflows. In addition, I provide critical support in program implementation across outreach sites in multiple states. Importantly, I report on project activities, foster effective collaboration among team members, maintain up-to-date records, and actively contribute to the overall impact of the IDRC/West Africa One-Health project, foster excellence at every step.

Opeyemi Alayande (MSc)
Research Officer (Computational Biology/Bioinformatics)
Opeyemi is a budding scientist with interest at the intersect of Biology, Computation, and Numeric analysis. He creates and employs computational tools to investigate Host-pathogen interactions, evolutionary biology, and molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis infection. He’s currently researching the underlying factors impacting the persistence, evolution of drug resistance, and transmission dynamics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis pathogens in Nigeria and Africa. He aims to contribute to the discovery of innovative therapeutics and effective TB vaccines.

Paul Iziomo (MSc)
Research Assistant (Public Health and Data Analyst)
A Data Analyst with a research background in infectious diseases of public health concerns. I specialize in analysing epidemiological data, identifying trends and patterns aiding in the development of effective public health strategies. Driven by the UN SDG 3, I am committed to improving global health outcomes through research and data-driven decisions-making. i have solid understanding of statistical software, including Microsoft EXcel, SPSS, and R programming software, and proven track record of delivering insightful analyses to support disease control initiatives.

Ajuwon Opeyemi
Field and Laboratory Assistant (AMR Research)
Opeyemi is an emerging scientist in the field of Microbiology with a keen interest in antimicrobial resistance. Currently pursuing her Masters in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan, her research focuses on understanding the complex interactions of resistance at the human-animal-environment interface. Her goal is to leverage genomics to map the transmission patterns and epidemiology of resistant pathogens. She aims to contribute to antimicrobial stewardship, ensuring the responsible use of antibiotics.

Samuel Ayanwale (DVM)
Research Assistant (Public health Virology and Epidemiology)
Samuel Ayanwale is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, an emerging researcher, and a current Master’s student specializing in infectious diseases epidemiology. As a graduate research assistant at the Damien Foundation Genomics and Mycobacteria and Research and Training Centre, his current research focuses on unifying epidemiology, genomics, and molecular biology approaches to address viral diseases of zoonotic importance.
His future aim is to contribute to public health advancements through provision of solutions to complex health issues.

Marcus Iyedupe
Operations Manager (Laboratory and Field Assistant)
I am a human physiologist passionate about human health research. Currently, I am involved in field and laboratory work including sample documentation, media preparation, culture, Genexpert assays, and related activities. In addition, I interface with other personnel and engage in the operational management of laboratory projects.

Adedolapo Suleiman (MSc)
Research Assistant (Virology Research)
Adeolapo Suleiman is a growing scientist specializing in virology, molecular biology, infectious disease epidemiology, and genomics. With a focus on the molecular analysis of tuberculosis and viral pathogens, She is currently exploring zoonotic and vector-borne diseases through the One Health approach. Passionate about public health, she is committed to developing effective strategies to mitigate the spread of arboviruses and other infectious diseases, ultimately contributing to improved health outcomes for communities and ecosystems alike.

Akomolafe Stephen Ayodele
Microbial Analysis, Gene Xpert and Data Entry

Dasaolu Oluwabukunmi (DVM)
Research Assistant (Public Health)
Dasaolu Oluwabukunmi is a Veterinary Doctor and an early-career researcher with an interest in molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. My aim is to focus on understanding antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases through genetic analysis.
